Block Island pt. 2// mohegan bluffs

MOHEGANBLUFFS

Mohegan Bluffs was, hands down, my favorite part of the island; I have loads of pictures, as I visited four times during the trip {#sorrynotsorry}. It's located on the southeastern tip of the island, and is exactly what it looks like-jagged coastline with breathtaking views, and a rocky, secluded beach accessible by 180 stairs and a sloping trail. And since it's located a mile or two away from the downtown, you have no excuse not to visit, regardless of whether you're visiting the island for a few hours or a few days.

Block Island

Ever since a trip to the Grand Canyon quelled my fear of heights, I've eagerly sought out great heights-not only for the dramatic views, but because they make me feel small, and I think that we all need that reminder, you know? It's nice to be reminded of how big and beautiful this universe is, how little we are in the grand scheme of things. Visiting the bluffs, watching the waves pound against the boulders, marveling at the delicate patterns carved into the sandstone cliffs over thousands of years, listening to the little rocks being pulled out to sea by the waves......it is singularly one of the most peaceful environments I've been to in a while, and it's safe to say, I was dreaming of setting up a tent and camping out right there on the beach. {who's with me?}
