On Thursday, I journeyed up through the city and to the North Shore of Massachusetts for a little roommate reunion with my college friends (in order of appearance) Amanda, Shannon and Liz.
A bit on my suitemate Shannon's house; it's a ramshackle grand old Victorian, on a hill. It's  painted pale pink,  it has two vintage jeeps in the yard, and you can see Maine from the roof. Her hometown, Gloucester, is known for being a fishing city//the backdrop to many of Winslow Homer's paintings//the pregnancy pact. We spent the first day listening to the rain pour down, snuggling under hamtaro and babar comforters, and eating boatloads of Shan's delicious cooking. There was ice cream late at night, there was laughing, there was this;

The next day, we headed down to Salem, (Witch Town USA) to pick up Shan's boyfriend and explore the general area. We visited Derby Square Books, which is an incredible little hole in the wall bookstore with stacks and stacks of books reaching towards the ceiling, aka the world's largest jenga game. Shan and I became children again at a local fountain (that's me, leaping like a gazelle) and we grabbed some fro yo at orange leaf. I finished off the day with quite the journey home-one bus, and three trains. It was so worth it though-I got to see parts of the state I had never experienced, seen a world so similar to mine on the South Shore, yet infinately different.
